Sean Beissel

Mr. Beissel's coaching career has spanned 20 years. He has extensive experience at many levels and is deeply committed to skill development. Sean is currently instructing at the Donnan Campus. Sean is in his 4th year with The Hockey Program, and is currently the Head Coach of the Sherwood Park Kings Major Midget AAA Kings. Sean has his Hockey Canada High Performance 1 certification as well as NCCP Theory 3. Sean and the other staff at Donnan School also recently completed certification in FUNdamental Movement Skills & Physical Literacy from Canadian Sport for Life.

In the past he has coached Midget AAA in both the RAMMHL with Spruce Grove & with Fort Saskatchewan in the AMHL. He has also coached in the AJHL with both the Fort Saskatchewan Traders & Grande Prairie Storm. Sean attended Jamestown College in Jamestown North Dakota on a football scholarship. This is where he started coaching hockey, which led to his path of US High School Hockey, Alberta Midget AAA, and Junior Hockey. Sean has coached many years of Spring/Summer hockey with the Northern Alberta Selects. Sean has spent many summers working at numerous hockey schools including, Stan Smyl’s Whistler Hockey School, Grande Prairie Storm Junior A Hockey School, University of North Dakota Summer Hockey Camp amongst others. Mr. Beissel believes strongly in the ideals of The Hockey program, and has a passion for teaching the strong character attributes that are so important to young student-athletes. Away from the rink Sean loves to spend time with his wife Heidi & step-daughter Hanna, as well as his niece and nephew. Mr. Beissel has 2 Siberian Huskies. He loves to travel and eagerly anticipated the Fall & Spring breaks.
